In Laos you can have your possessions and livestock taken from you at gunpoint and your house burned by the local authorities...all because you won't deny your faith in Christ.
GCRI donors reponded to an appeal from Christians in a Laotian tribal village who not only had had their homes burned but had been ejected from their village and forced to live in the woods. The authorities said to them, "We accept lepers, not Christians. Deny your faith and you can return home."
Villagers asked for funds to purchase a small tractor to clear land since theirs was confiscated, a tiller to again prepare the soil for rice patties, and a well-drilling machine since they no longer were provided clean water.
